Path to Peace for BED

Path to Peace: Specialized Binge Eating Care

At Center for Discovery, we know the power of community spaces that foster safety and vulnerability. That is why we are invested in creating inclusive spaces for our patients who struggle with bingeing and chronic dieting. The Path to Peace program for bingeing helps patients explore the nuances of bingeing, the deceptiveness of diet culture and the wisdom in our coping.

NEW! Path to Peace is Expanding and Available Virtually in Washington

Binge eating disorder, also known as BED, is the most prevalent of all eating disorder diagnoses, though stigma and other barriers prevent equal access to quality care. Additionally, we know that bingeing shows up in other eating disorder diagnoses that require nuanced forms of treatment.

In response to historical stigma and our patient’s requests, Center for Discovery has developed a virtual program for individuals living in Washington State struggling specifically with binge eating. This intensive outpatient program (IOP) runs during the evening hours, allowing patients to join virtually after their daytime responsibilities.

BED Treatment: Connection Over Correction

“Why can’t I just stop?”

We believe healing starts with the connection of the behaviors, rather than the correction of the behaviors. There are many elements and factors behind a binge. We work to find those connections and create healing.
