Center for Discovery Temecula is an outpatient eating disorder treatment center for patients of all genders and all ages. The Temecula IOP/PHP treatment facility serves all of Southern California. It opened in November 2019 and is located near the 15 Freeway and the 79 Freeway. Treatment modalities we offer include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), exposure & response prevention (ERP) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT).
Dietary Program: Handling Eating Disorder Treatment with CARE
Healing, growth and a positive relationship with food is possible with the Center for Discovery Dietary Program. Our approach the CARE-CFD Model, which stands for “consistent attuned relational eating.” This means patients have the steadiness of a dietary plan that is adaptable to what’s happening in their life. The CARE-CFD Model embraces: trauma-focused nutrition therapy; collaboration between patients and the care team; responsiveness to the whole body, including being in tune with the nervous system; and weight inclusivity.
Activities, Insurance, Programs and More
In addition to receiving evidence-based therapies, patients all have the opportunity to put “joyful” back into movement through yoga and other activities. Discovery’s specialized binge eating disorder (BED) program, Path to Peace, is also offered at this location.
Insurances we accept include but are not limited to Cigna/ Great West, Health Net, Humana (Life Sync), Multi-Plan and TriCare Military Region WEST MHN/HealthNet. Please remember that the insurances we accept change frequently. Our insurance team will verify your coverage.
The eating disorder outpatient team is highly trained in eating disorders, including certifications in eating disorder treatment and abundant experience with high acuity patients. Many of the staff members are trained in trauma therapy, including eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). This eating disorder treatment facility strongly supports family involvement in the treatment process and holds family nights as a way to involve loved ones to enhance the involvement of the patients.

Average treatment range 41.3 days for those who completed treatment (did not discharge to higher level of care, due to insurance, against treatment advice transfer or administratively).
