Center For Discovery Edmonds is a high level of care eating disorder treatment center located in Southwest Washington that opened in November 2009 and treats young boys and girls 11-17 years of age who are battling serious eating disorders. The Edmonds location caters to all adolescent clients who reside in the Pacific Northwest including Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska and Montana.
Center For Discovery Edmonds incorporates families into the treatment process as much as possible and works close with the community to help organize educational events. The eating disorder program believes in integrating their clients into the community by bringing them to local malls, restaurants and bakeries to practice skills they will need once they successfully complete treatment. This treatment center integrates art therapy and family therapy into the treatment approach as a way to make every client feel at home. Residential treatment at Center For Discovery Edmonds works closely with teenage clients and their families to develop safe boundaries, establish weight restoration, treat co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders, learn positive coping skills, develop a safe and healthy relationship with food, maintain a healthy support structure and treat the underlying triggers associated with the eating disorder.
