WEST LOS ANGELES RESIDENTIAL EATING DISORDER PROGRAM

Since 1992, Center for Discovery has provided compassionate and measurement-based eating disorder treatment to those in need. We are delighted to bring this quality care to the Center for Discovery facility in Los Angeles, California. The LA center, which accepts patients 24/7, provides residential care to adolescent and teenage patients of all genders. 

Our residential center is in the heart of West Los Angeles, situated in a beautiful neighborhood, making this a peaceful yet highly secure setting for our patients. The residence has a backyard for time to reflect, as well as a dedicated education room for schoolwork. Many restaurants are nearby, making this an ideal setting to do exposure & response prevention (ERP) work. 

For your convenience, we are just off the 10 and 405 freeways and only 14 miles away from LAX for those who are coming from another city or state. Our center is also close to Children’s Hospital of LA, where we have patient transfer agreements in place. 

At Discovery, you’ll work with our highly trained, expert staff who’ll give you the confidence and reassurance you need to succeed. Using evidence-based techniques, they’ll guide you through the entire process and help propel you to discovering a better you. Types of treatment modalities provided involve cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). 

Dietary Program: Handling Eating Disorder Treatment with CARE 

Healing, growth and a positive relationship with food is possible with the Center for Discovery Dietary Program. Our approach is the CARE-CFD Model, which stands for “consistent attuned relational eating.” This means patients have the steadiness of a dietary plan that is adaptable to what’s happening in their life, during treatement at the Los Angeles center and beyond. The CARE-CFD Model embraces: trauma-focused nutrition therapy; collaboration between patients and the care team; responsiveness to the whole body, including being in tune with the nervous system; and weight inclusivity.
