In a season of giving, give yourself your life back - the time is now to overcome an eating disorder.

Our daughter's eating disorder didn't care one bit about our family's holiday season, and it certainly wasn't going on vacation just because we were. So instead, we worked towards recovery in the hope that we would see many happy holidays in years to come, free from the shadow of E.D.

Treatment may feel like it will never end, but I can assure you that sticking with the treatment plan even through the holidays is your absolute best shot.

I would rather miss a million Christmas vacations in order to have ONE in which I am finally free.

This holiday season, for the first time in a long time, I am looking forward to the holidays. I am actually thinking about the people, places, and am not feeling any rigidity about food. This is the life worth living they talk about.

There’s no right time – only right now.
Put your recovery first during the holidays at Center for Discovery.
The Ultimate Gift: Recovery
Although this is considered the most wonderful time of the year by many, it can be anything but when you’re struggling with an eating disorder. The holidays can come with more stressors than cheer, such as family conflict, grief, financial strains, celebratory events and seasonal affective disorder (SAD). These things can be very triggering.
If you see yourself barely hanging on and surviving the holidays because of an eating disorder, know that Center for Discovery is here to fully support you.

Activities & Events You Can Look Forward To
The hard work of treatment also comes with special activities and events at our centers during the holidays. In a safe, supportive environment, you can expect to enjoy the magic of the season without any of the usual distractions you might face when you’re at home.
