Eating Disorders are Still on the Rise
While many parents choose to ignore the facts until it happens to their child, the number of teenagers with eating disorders is still on the rise. Despite the fact that there has been far more publicity in recent years regarding this problem, far too many parents still do not recognized the symptoms until the disease that their child is suffering from has progressed significantly.
Perhaps this is because those who have eating disorders are very good at hiding them. They will go to unbelievable lengths to hide the fact that they are not eating. In most cases, parents are the last to know and may not realize there is a problem until their child is hospitalized with a severe medical problem.
